Motifs in these prints are typically flora and fauna found in India. A little embroidery work is also done around these motifs. Cheerful Summer Bedspread May 03, 2009 I bought this cheery cotton bed cover for warm weather months. The animals on it are endearing, the colors rich and vibrant. It seems to be just the right weight to use with a sheet in summer - too soon to say, though. The pattern fits the surface of a queen-size mattress perfectly. The border hangs down about 12 inches from the top of an 8-9 inch mattress (12-inches from the top of the green stripe to the edge of the spread). It would be ideal for a platform bed or a mattress on the floor. For deeper mattresses, the border may be too short to use without something longer underneath - it looks beautiful with a deep red blanket hanging down beneath it, for example.
