Description
Beautiful Table Runner from the holy town of Varanasi in brocade work. Brocades are textiles woven with warp and weft threads of different colors and often of different materials. The Benaras (Varanasi) brocades are woven in silk, with profuse use of metal threads on the pallavs (end pieces). Whether doing a romantic dinner for two, a buffet for the family or the gang from work, a well turned out table in colorful brocade silk table runners is the beginning of a successful party.

Be Aware... Feb 25, 2011
By P. Belfiglio ... not necessarily `beware'. This IS a runner. I suppose I was expecting something with more heft, but this is simply thin silk cloth (with a brocade pattern) on one side, plain red cotton on the other and nicely seamed together. The stitching is good and the cloth is what it is, but again I just can't justify having paid 70 dollars for this -- it feels like it should have cost a lot, lot less. I'm unsettled. I like it being that the picture depictions are accurate, but not for the price when you actually hold it in your hand.
